"I contacted Giglio Landscaping in late Spring about providing hardscaping services for a portion of my front and side yard. They came within a day to understand my needs and scope out the work that would be necessary. Since this was going to be a large project, they explained in general how work would proceed, including the effect of the project on other parts of my lawn, gardens and driveway area. Since we already knew we were going to use a concrete paver product, they suggested several products (Unilock, Nicolock, Cambridge, etc...) that would be readily available. As the paver companies were in our general area, it served us well to visit with the companies directly so that we were able to easily find the product that we wanted. Once we selected the product and developed a plan layout we quickly received a quote and the work began within a week or so. As machinery was brought on-site to accommodate the required excavation, we ran into some issues regarding ledge and other rock issues that would impede progress and also require a redesign of the original plan. Both Chris and John were available as we asked LOTS of questions and continually worked toward developing a new layout. I must say, I had some ideas that luckily they were very helpful in explaining why certain types of pavers, excavation or layouts would not "work" with my location or overall objective of the space. For that I am grateful! While work continued, the design continued to be fluid allowing us to visualize the space and make appropriate adjustments to make it "just right". I should add I am a bit picky - so this really was quite a task for them. As the concept came into focus, they worked with our electrician, plumber, builders (due to a rotten sill that needed to be replaced) to ensure the project stayed on track. We did not experience any significant delays due to their coordination efforts. John was excellent at listening to my ideas and being able to develop those ideas into tangible results. The project took over 100 days from beginning of work until late in the fall and we did not have any significant issues with any of the employees during that time. That is actually saying a lot because that is a long time to have people around your house and yard, especially when we were at work most of the time. The employees were very respectful and the lead on the project was able to answer almost all my daily questions or concerns. We waited until Spring to finish off the bluestone tops to my walls and they are already installing those now so that we can use our lovely patio this year." – Jenni

I left instructions with him and he showed up to make sure the guys knew what to do, then let them do their thing. They were efficient and did a great job, very thorough. "This was a huge project and MAJOR change to our property. It was extremely stressful to take down so many large trees and figure out how to transform the property with safety, budget, future maintenance etc. in mind, and we are glad we did this with Dan and the team. Dan is very easy to work with, and worked with us to make a plan to stay in budget (which required him to come out several times and review ideas/changes with us). It took 5 full days to complete this project, and involved heavy equipment on the property. The guys worked super hard, were polite and professional (we were not surprised given our first experience with them last Fall). We give a shout out to John who was a master on the heavy equipment and super careful with our driveway. Originally we were going to grass the berm that was created (for a temporary step) but realized on day 4 that it would be better to mulch it in prep for future plantings. This change on our part required Dan to come out again on site (which he had done each day of the project to check in) and figure out on the fly how to get 30 yards of mulch to the site (all trucks were already on other jobs this day). He said "I'll figure it out" and within a few hours the mulch was here. The guys that worked the landscape portion of the job were excellent too. Clean-up was wonderful (as it was the first time), and several days after the project was done, one of the team came out to pick up some boards used to protect the driveway. He inspected the lawn, and added more topsoil/seed in a few areas. We really appreciated this check-in, and it makes us feel like they really care that things are going right for us. Stephanie is always a pleasure to work with on the back-end office communications, and it's refreshing to know she is there for quick questions that we don't want to bother Dan with. She is always very prompt with follow-up too. This is a can-do company with polite, professional, and hard-working workers from Dan on through the whole team. They know what they are doing. "John gives you the impression that he and his team will not leave until your mouth drops with admiration for the work and then they follow through just like that. They did a staggeringly good job with a massive, v-trunked maple tree at my house. They gave a very competitive price and then proceeded to nail the job. They took the tree down in chunks using a cherry picker and guy with a chain saw, chipped all the brush that was at the top of the tree, and then cut the trunk into perfect fire-size lengths. John came back the next day and stacked it all beautifully. I had tried to move some of the logs, but could barely budge most of them. I told him not to try because it's too heavy and didn't want him to hurt his back. He insisted and after an hour, he had stacked the entire unsplit trunk. Unbelievable. "The job went very well. It took two days to complete. Most of the wood was taken away; however a great deal of wood was neatly compiled in a wooded area in the back yard for firewood. I was impressed that Dan, the owner came out before the job was completed to see if I was pleased with the job before it was finished. My neighbor saw how meticulous and precise the guys were with my job, and got a quote from Dan about a tree she had contemplated cutting down for a few years. She was satisfied with the quote and the tree was set to be cut on the second day of my job. Mind you, this was not an anticipation for the foursome, however two men tackled my neighbor's tree, while the other two continued working diligently on my property. Her tree had many family memories, but also blocked a gazebo. The end result was she was ecstatic when the job was completed. "I have had lots of problems with contractors in the passed and was very reluctant to hire anyone anymore. But this was the greatest experience I have ever had with a contractor he has renewed my faith in them. He did just a fantastic job he came on time he did what he said he would do he removed 6 big trees and one huge tree in my back yard. All the other tree people said I would have to remove my fence to get to my tree in back yard he did not have me remove my fence. They would grind the stumps but I would have to fill it in my self. Dan grinned the stumps fill it in with top soil and seeded it and put straw on it all the wile giving me the best price anyone needing tree service should hire this company you will not regret it. "They were supposed to arrive at 9am, but called and said they had to finish a job before they came. We were put out since we took a day off to work with them and make sure they did what we wanted. They said they would get there around 3 and work till 7 to put in a half day. They came, set up and went to work. They applied themselves and worked fast and neat. They took breaks, but they deserved them. When they came to a tree we thought should go, but they thought it should be saved, they consulted us and we appreciated the consult. They proved right every time.They dropped the trees exactly where they aimed and finished up well after 7 putting in a great 1/2 day work. The next day the pace didn't slacken and they accomplished more than we thought they would. The last day they did the biggest trees. They used a lift which didn't weigh as much as a truck and could go over our septic without a problem. Arrived early, worked hard and fast. Cleaned up well. Great team. "The owner, Dan, was very responsive throughout the entire project. I had a lot of questions upfront and he was great about describing how the entire project was going to be completed. We agreed on a price, which was highly competitive, and they began work within 2 weeks. Muddy conditions caused by heavy rained delayed the completion of the work but the crew worked fast and efficiently throughout. Communication was never an issue and Dan was agreeable to several additional requests that I made during the project. The entire project took approximately 2 weeks (with the weather delay) which was a little longer than we discussed but the result was much better than I was expecting. Dan is still contacting me 3 weeks after the project was complete to find out how the grass growth is progressing and giving me tips on how to improve the growth. "Absolutely excellent service and performance in all areas. First, they responded promptly to my request for a proposal/estimate with the estimator being well experienced in tree removal and its nuances. He advised that the tree I thought to be a problem was not so but clearly and in detail explained why another was in need of prompt attention. When I accepted the proposal, a take down date was scheduled within a week. On the scheduled date, the crew and equipment arrived promptly at 8:00 AM as scheduled. All of their equipment was in first class condition showing it was carefully and properly maintained and serviced. They worked quickly but very carefully and were always observant of being absolutely safe in their operations looking to protect their workers and my property. When finished they completely cleaned up all the branches and wood chips and secured the logs for pick up the next work day, (it was a Friday). On Monday they called to advise that they ran into an unexpected delay on a previous job and would be here on Tuesday. On Tuesday at 8:00 AM the crew arrived with their equipment, (also in top notch, A-1 condition) and began the removal of the tree trunks and heavy logs. Before starting, they placed plywood sheets on the lawn to avoid tearing up the turf as the equipment traversed the area.
